Hi all! I'm Abeeha and my 8 years of affiliation with DECA has awarded me with the role of Chairwoman for this year! My extensive fear of balloons displays that I am constantly looking to expand my comfort zone, discover, and learn to be more adventurous through travelling, cooking, and trying dare-devil type stunts such as making 2-minute noodles in the record time of 1:59. I also love pomegranates, enjoy puns, and enjoy watching TED Talks. York DECA has fantastic things in store and I can’t wait to share them with all our new and returning members!

Hola everyone! I’m Shirley (aka Practical Shirlz) and I’m so excited to back on the York DECA team as Co-President this year with Faghya. My four-year affiliation with DECA has brought me so many rewarding experiences! Aside from being known as the most practical person on the team, I'm always looking for ways to think outside the box and better myself through activities such as spending hours on Pinterest/Twitter/YouTube and conquering my impossible by turning my baking mistakes into edible creations (muffin + scone = mscone or scuffin?). I also enjoy playing Ultimate Frisbee, watching White Collar, and wandering the streets of downtown Toronto. This exec team is ready to bring the chapter to new heights this year, so stay tuned! #YDLove

Hey hey everyone! I’m Faghya, better known as Faghs! In my 6th year of affiliation with DECA, I’m so excited to be serving as the Co-President alongside Shirley. Day to day, you’ll never find me without with my phone that doubles as my agenda, my nerdy glasses to let me read the numerous books I love, and definitely my quirky attitude! When I’m not too busy with my kid-at-heart and melodramatic nature, I fill my life with my love of food, books, photography, family and friends. With a strong belief in being an Optimist Prime, not a Negatron, you’ll always find me with a smile on my face! I have endless love for not only this executive team, but also the numerous amazing individuals I’ve met through DECA, and I can’t wait to spread this #DECAlove further!

HEY! I'm Miloni and yes, my name rhymes with balogna... Despite this, I'm actually a vegetarian with 0 cooking abilities. After 4 years of DECA affiliation, I’ll be serving as the Director of Events on the team. Find me at Demetres, I'll probably be scarfing down anything that looks good, but nonetheless, I always love a good conversation. I have an obsession with reading, like to dance, spend time with the loved ones and watch back-to-back episodes of Friends. DECA truly means a lot to me - it has shaped me into a confident, well-spoken and forward thinking individual, all of which are crucial for my goal of becoming the next Bollywood star. I am really looking forward to working with the awesome York DECA team and also meet all of our new members this year!

Hey y’all!  This is my seventh year doing DECA and I am so excited to be the returning Director of Marketing.  DECA has and will always be a huge part of my life and my journey.  I’m a strong believer in the oxford comma, putting two spaces after each sentence, and drinking lots and lots of tea.  If I didn’t have “accountant” written all over me, I’d probably be in filmmaking.  My life mantra is to do all things with intention and to never turn down a cookie.  Looking forward to meeting all the new and returning DECAdians for another incredible year!

Hey guys! My name is Talha, but you’ll likely come to know me as Zuzu. I’ve been a part of DECA for 5 years now, and am excited to be your Vice President of Finance for this year. I’ve loved every moment of the journey thus far, and am fortunate to have competed at all levels of DECA (shoutout to my Salt Lake City people!). In my spare time, I’m usually watching TV shows or at the gym. Some of my current favourites are Suits, White Collar, and The Following. I also just recently became a Certified Personal Trainer, so if you’re interested in fitness come talk to me! I honestly can’t wait for this year, it’s going to be filled with a ton of great events and amazing times with amazing people. Welcome to the #YorkDECAfamily!

What’s up guys? I’m Akshay and I’ll be returning to the team as your VP of Corporate Relations. I’ve been involved with DECA since grade 11, and you may recognize me as a Director of Membership Development from last year. I love getting involved on campus, playing sports (especially basketball and volleyball) and closely follow the NBA. Shout out to any Miami Heat and Lebron James fans reading this! I love to travel, and am really looking forward to exchange in Singapore this year. In terms of TV shows, White Collar, Suits and Arrow are three shows that I’m currently following and can’t get enough of.  Aside from all that, I honestly can’t describe how much love I have for this DECA team and can’t wait to make this year even better than the rest!

Howdy! I’m Mihai and this year I’m going to take my talents to York DECA and join the team as Director of Member Development. Last year was my very first year competing and I can’t wait to share that experience with our members this year but on an even bigger scale! I enjoy watching movies, knowing more about Game of Thrones than anyone else, and reading history books. What you can expect this year: becoming a better presenter, learning to take selfies, expanding your business expertise, overcoming the stereotypes against selfies, winning all the prizes, and did I mention becoming a selfie master. Get ready!

Hello everyone, I’m Michael and I’m returning to the York DECA team as VP of Operations. I’ve been involved with DECA since grade 9, and last year you may have seen me supporting our organization as a Director of Events. I think DECA is excellent not only because it helped me with my speaking skills, but also because it really is an accepting family of great people. On a more personal note, I enjoy playing tennis, meeting new people, and am learning to cook better. I’m really looking forward to making the best of the upcoming DECA year!

What's up guys! My name is Salman and this year marks my 6th year being a part of the DECA organization! I'm so excited to be returning back to the team as the VP of Events and I hope you're all looking forward to the amazing things we have in store for you. To tell you a bit about myself,  I'm a huge basketball fan, I love listening to hip-hop/rap (shout-out to all the J. Cole fans!), and I enjoy watching TV shows/movies and playing video games. I also love learning about people who've experienced success in their lives and so I frequently watch videos and documentaries hoping to be in their position one day. If you guys ever have any questions about anything, DECA-related or not, feel free to reach out to me - I’m looking forward to meeting all of you this year!  

Hey! I’m Rutu, a Director of Events for the exciting year ahead. I feel proud to say that DECA and I go way back. My four years with DECA have granted me some truly unbelievable and unforgettable experiences. I’m passionate about baking, dancing, and high-thrill activities such as cave climbing, even while risking perfectly done nails. Evidently, I love risk-taking and my adventurous side is always looking to try something new. As a returning member to this executive team I’m absolutely certain that this year will be the most memorable one York DECA has ever had.

Hey there! My name is Rohan and I'm new to the team joining as one of the Corporate Relations Directors. My first time participating in DECA was in grade 10 and I rejoined the club when I began my time at York. Outside of school, I like to stay fit by playing sports recreationally, particularly basketball, and working out and I also like to take my dog on long walks. Throughout my life, I've lived in four different countries, and am currently in the process of trying to learn to cook. I'm looking forward to working with this amazing team to make the upcoming year the best one yet!

Hello everyone. I’m Gavin and I will be serving as your Director of Corporate Relations. DECA is an amazing opportunity for students to showcase essential skills in the workforce that might not be tested in the classroom. Outside of school, I enjoy hanging out with friends, watching movies and playing sports. Oh and I am a huge anime nerd! I have always believed a great haircut can take the average Joe from a 6 to a solid 8!

Hi y’all! I’m Harit, and I am returning to the team to try something new as the Director of Member Development! DECA & I have had a prosperous relationship over the past few years, and I could not be more excited to be ending my undergraduate career by being part of the most amazing team! Besides DECA, I am an avid reader, having set a personal record of reading 18 books in 4 weeks! I also have a mild obsession with birds, Harry Potter and Game of Thrones! I am extremely maternal (according to my fellow DECAdians). I highly recommend coming by if you need any help with DECA competitions, school or life (fine print: results for the latter not guaranteed). I'm extremely grateful to be part of York DECA again and I promise, you’re in for a phenomenal year ahead! So, buckle your seatbelts and get ready to #ConquerYourImpossible!

Hey guys! I’m Abid and I am returning to the York DECA team as a Director of Corporate Relations. My time at DECA has been amazing. Aside from the professional development, I have met many wonderful people along the way who all share the same passion and love for DECA as I do. This team is truly a family and I am proud to say I have the pleasure of working with my friends again to ensure an even better year for York DECA. Besides DECA, I live and breathe soccer, I sit on my butt and watch tv shows all day, and I’d like to think I am fit and enjoy working out! Hello everyone! I’m Cindy, and I am the Director of Communications, aka the one who will answer your pressing emails! This is my first year on the team, and I'm excited to meet everyone and join the DECA community! As an avid participant in case competitions, I will hopefully be able to apply my own experiences in helping the continuous growth of York DECA. Outside of school, I am a fashion and baking enthusiast who is attempting to come out of my comfort zone by becoming more athletic! I am a newbie at golf, so if anyone has any advice, it would be greatly appreciated! I have an adventurous mindset, while always being open to new opportunities to grow and further broaden my perspectives! Get ready for another awesome year York DECA!

Hi everyone, I'm Meeral and I'm so happy to be serving as one of the Directors of Member Development this year. I've been a part of DECA since grade nine and I attribute DECA to introducing me into the wonderful world of business, so this club is very special to me. I love being in positions where I can directly mentor people and I enjoy working on long-term team projects. Outside of school, I pursue the very thrilling activities of reading, writing, watching all sorts of lectures, and keeping up with a ridiculous amount of TV shows. Sometimes when I feel extra adventurous I go out on walks. Overall, I'm an easy-going person once I get to know everyone and I can already tell that I'll be right at home with this executive team.
